Most requests for repair or maintenance come about in personal communication with our customers. We deliberate about the defect or required maintenance, prices of parts and the current value of the equipment.
In general, all repair will be carried out as a CLA (Clean, Lubricate & Adjust). By doing so, we can warrant the correct technical functioning your equipment (and thus give a guarantee).
As a result of this consult, we give a orientation price (possible shipping fees, 25 Euros workshop materials & handling per order and 21% VAT will be added on the invoice). If the repair costs do not exceed the mentioned orientation price, equipment will be automatically repaired. If the repair costs will exceed the orientation price, we will first contact you and give a price estimate.
If you don't agree on the estimate, we will charge examination costs (based on the needed time to determine the problem with the equipment). We work on a no-cure-no-pay-basis; this means that if we cannot repair the equipment, we will not charge costs (except shipping costs). You can also part with the equipment without any costs; we will then use it for parts.
You can send us your equipment by using the shipping form (see menu on the left). We advise you to pack your parcel well and solid; check your local postal services for sending parcels registered/insured/with track & trace service. We will let you know when your parcel has arrived at our workshop.
If you are sending in equipment from outside the EU: make sure you add a ‘pro forma invoice’ in a plastic sleeve on the outside of the parcel (ask your customs service) and fill in the international customs declaration form correctly: ‘used/broken/vintage photo equipment’, ‘to be repaired’. If you don’t, chances are we have to pay import duties and taxes; in which case we will decline.
You can also bring in your equipment personally (please give us a call in advance).
After we’ve finished the work on your equipment, we will send you an (international) invoice with IBAN/BIC info by e-mail. As soon as the payment is in our account, we will send off the parcel (you will be notified by UPS).
We prefer payments by bank transfer (IBAN/BIC); Within the EU bank transfers are free of charge. Outside the EU banks sometimes charge you costs (we will not share these).
If mutually agreed, PayPal payments are also possible, but we will have to charge +5% costs on your invoice.
EU companies (that can provide us with a verifiable EU VAT ID number) and clients residing outside the EU, won’t be charged VAT.
In the case of personal pick up at our workshop: payments in cash please (we don’t have a PIN code reader).
we will ship parcels insured and through UPS exclusively. Shipping costs depend on destination and the weight of the parcel. All shipping costs (including insurance) will be added on your invoice. We will take the utmost care of packaging and sealing the parcel. Outside Europe/the EU: we will send back the equipment as 'repaired/returned goods' in conformity with the international customs instructions. We are not responsible for any delays and/or costs due to customs handling.
There’s a six month guarantee on the carried out labour, unless otherwise mentioned on the invoice. There’s no guarantee on damages caused by: liquids, humidity, sand, falling, bumping, battery leakage, intervention by third parties or another cause then the primary defect. If these are detected during repair, normal repair conditions will prevail.
While your equipment is under our care in our workshop, it is secondary insured for damage or theft. This means you will first have to appeal to your own fire and theft or valuables insurance. Transportation damage of equipment which we have send back to you, should be reported to us asap. We will report the case to our transport insurance.
